Dear Valued Customer
In response to the Coronavirus outbreak which continues to spread globally, we would like to confirm that all the services of DAP (UK) are operational, and that we are able to support and serve our customers as before, whilst complying with all directives issued by the UK and Global Governments and the WHO.
DAP (UK) is committed to protecting the health of our staff, customers and partners while ensuring business efficiency. Therefore, we have implemented protective measures and prepared the possibilities of remote working for our key staff members in case of a local virus outbreak and quarantine.
In countries where authorities have imposed tightened measures already, our Group Company NTG offices and partners have successfully started to operate remotely where required, ensuring continuity of the supply chains and the transport services we manage on your behalf.
As you will have seen in the press, and news broadcasts, due to the unprecedented actions being taken by the UK Government, and many other governments of the UK’s main trading nations, the value of Sterling against the US Dollar and the Euro has dramatically devalued. At the time of writing Sterling now trades at Euro 1.06 and USD 1.15 and is expected to fall further as the crisis deepens. At the beginning of 2020 Sterling traded at Euro 1.18 and USD 1.31 respectively.
In order that we are able to continue to provide the high level of services that you our customers have become accustomed to, we are forced to introduce and currency regulator surcharge on all our Sterling prices from 23rd March until such time Sterling returns to its January 2020 trading levels. The currency surcharge will be adjusted every Friday for business booked for the coming week, and will be displayed on our website. The surcharge for week commencing 23rd March will be 10.16% on European Freight Bookings, (Euro), and 12.2% ($) on bookings to the Rest of the World.
We understand that this may not be welcomed news for our customer’s but it is a responsible action that we must take in order to safeguard the services we provide you, and of course our ability to trade in the future.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during these very difficult and testing times and, will of course update you on any changes to our services.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your regular DAP contact should you have any queries relating to this communication.
We thank you for your business and continued support.
