Innovative rail freight solutions
In response to our customers’ wish to address their own ecological dilemmas, DAP run a revolutionary new generation of Mega Swap-bodies on UK-Italy-UK routes.
Their unique design means:
- They are an environmentally friendly yet viable alternative to the Mega Road trailers
- They are designed for maximum volume without loosing the flexibility of loading or the ability to carry heavy cargoes
- The cargo boards can be place in a variety of positions within the swap-body to assist security and load safety
They were originally designed for the White Goods industry. However the flexibility of their design – the ability to raise the roof height and to load through the roof, rear and sides – means they can be utilised to transport the majority of manufactured commodities therefore reducing both empty running and wasted mileage.
The road mileage on a rail transport from Birmingham to Northern Italy is 60% less than using road freight alone – saving fuel, emissions and reducing congestion.
